Hey 67ChevyRedNeck and BoundStaffPress, can you take a look and see what that is printed immediately under your VIN number on your pictures???? It is not real clear in the pics what that/those numbers are. Courious if they mean something.

I was reading this thread and got curious and went and checked my glovebox off of our 67 parts truck and it also lists the Deluxe Heater Option.

This was on a panel truck, first thing is the model number, second is the color.

The 'MODEL=' isn't an RPO option so that makes it a 1 RPO optioned truck! Wow.

Like I said, the colors are not listed in the option book, it is a selection specified on the SPID label.

Roger0080, my sticker says 934_127 under the VIN then it looks like the top of some typing that I can't decipher. It looks like ###07###, but I can't tell anything else. Even went out and looked at it.

The 934_127 seems to be typed at a different time than the others.

I didn't read all of the comments, so this may be redundant...if so, sorry.

There used to be two kinds of heaters; recirculating and fresh air. The recirculating heaters were the kind that were added on to the vehicle, usually after purchase (all were optional equipment for the most part). These heaters were the ones that had one knob. Turn it for fan speed, usually only high and low. Pull the knob for defrost. That sent the air to the windshield. You could modulate the amount of defrost air it got, by how far out you pulled the knob.

Fresh air heaters, brought (are you ready for this?) fresh air from outside of the vehicle. It had to pass through the heater core, so it would be warmed before it go the interior.....assuming the engine was warmed up. Usually, these heaters had three speed fans. You could also adjust the temperature of the heat, by adding more/less outside air to the mix.

My first car (a '54 Ford) had a recirculating heater. The '59 Ford that dad bought new, also had a recirculating heater and no radio, but had a 292 V-8, with a 3-speed stick and 4 doors. With the 2-tone paint, it was far from loaded, but a far sight better than the '50 Plymouth he traded in on it. Our stuff didn't stink, no more!!!

I am guessing that GM referred to all fresh air heaters, as "Deluxe Heater" in the product description....as opposed to Heater Delete for an option. I can't imagine living where I wouldn't need a heater. Needed one in Tucson. Need an Air Conditioner, too. But, my '64 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible, maroon with black leather, had been sold new in Royal Oak, MI., and was special ordered before the owner later moved to Arkansas. In Tucson, you had to pay a wrecking yard to take a vehicle without an A/C unit (so I was told).

Mine said: 7.0.4..1.1.5... I'm pretty sure those dots were typed after the numbers, pretty hard to read. I think the wheelbase is 115, but that is probably just a coincidence. Not sure what the numbers mean.
