Help? How did you bypass the Height sensing valve? 88 Suburban
Hey guys, Ive got an 88 Suburban 3500 4X4 here at work. Somone in the past had removed the height sensing lever for the rear propotioning valve. I cant find another one at the bone yards so I'm left with only 1 option to get the rear brakes working again. I'm curious what you guys have used to bypass this sucker when you put your lift kits on or had one go bad?
Thanks Clint. Also I will post the same topic in the truck fourm.

Re: Help? How did you bypass the Height sensing valve? 88 Suburban
Well I got the bypass part figured out. I was able to take the "extra" line off at the valve and attach the rubber line directly to the 7/16' line on the axle. It now allows the rear brakes to lock but the pedel is still inconsistant and bleeds off. This is driving me nuts since everything is new and or checked now.

Re: Help? How did you bypass the Height sensing valve? 88 Suburban
When I upgraded to the full-floater axle, the link and bracket wouldn't bolt on properly. I just tied it up out of the way with some zip ties.
I don't have problems with the brakes working too good or not enough. Seems about perfect. Makes me wonder if it's worked at all since I've had the truck.
