hood problems
The hood on my truck dosent close all the way down in the back. What could cause this? I was looking at it and its not hitting the rubber stoppers. Could it be the hinges are to old and need new ones?

hinge adjustment needed? you shouldn't need new hinges unless the springs are shot. loosen the bolts abit and close the hood push it down to where you want it and reopen and tighten the bolts. This can only happen if you loosen the bolts just right. Too loose and the hood will not stay put. too tight and the hood will not move.

its either sprung/misadjusted hood or some of the aftermarket hoods arent very strong and will require a lighter or no spring

I tried the bolt thing and now its worse. I think im going to look for new springs and see what happens.

just keep adjusting it. you will need to ajust the new springs anyway. Don't throw your money away.

Alot of times the hinge rivit gets worn and alows what you describe. I'd inspect the rivit and the slot for wear. In the past Ive been able to use the MIG and add some material to the pin and this cured the problem.
