Re: When Free Isn't Cheap Enough...

I'ld help anyone that wants to try to save it or part it out. PM me with the time and date and where to meet up and I'll see what I can do.

Re: When Free Isn't Cheap Enough...

Is anyone going to try and part it out?? If so I could use some parts like the doors (if decent) and the glass if tinted. I am sure most of the parts would sell fairly quickly.

Re: When Free Isn't Cheap Enough...

That isn't a loaded truck, but far from a strip down. I wouldn't be suprised if it startes up with less than $100 thrown at it.
Some of the options I see at a glance...
Custom option package (chrome and bright accent trim)
acc guages
4 speed
lower side molding

INteresting, it looks to have an engine out of an older truck... Can't quite tell if the alt is mounted to the head or to the exhaust manifold, but it is certialn older intake and valve covers.

Defenatly worth grabbing IMO, I'm willing to bet the chrome wing vents alone would fetch best part of 100 buck on e-bay if they are're not pitted and nasty.

The body actually looks better than any truck I have ever owned.

Longhorn Man, Good eye...that is a '68 or earlier intake since it has the oil filler tube. I love those the 327's though. Elkhunter (he is in Oregon City) has all the gear to get this one. I don't see him on here much anymore.

Re: When Free Isn't Cheap Enough...

Alright Alright Alright! Let's get it!

A guy I work with has a Land Rover Defender with all the snatch grear/winch etc. I don't think pulling it out will be a problem. It's all the clearing that'll take time, and getting it back to Hillsboro (no trailer)

The other problem I have is where to put it while getting it road worthy or parting it... I already have the garage and driveway occupied with Chevys

Free is always cheap enough.Especially when you can do it with friends.Go get it.If it runs for the $100.00 someone mentioned the body ought to buff out to a show finish.

<<yea, it looks like you've added a few sense the last time I talked to you.>>

Ron's68, It's a disease...but I like to think I have been developing a more discriminating taste. I am only acquiring '67's and '68's. There are several more in the wings but I told myself that I will finish one before dragging home another one...LOL! We will have to see how long that lasts!

Frizzle...I have been out of town. What's up with the recovery? I think we should all meet at your place to drool over your project. How did that last fender work out?
