Unhappy 6 to five

doing frame up on 65 sort bed fleet side. realy like too keep stock rear end . what 5 lug axles will slide in . also will 92 s10 booster master and pp valve work . have all ready got 85 c 10 front disc parts/power steer gear box and pump 85 alt 327 sagonow 4 speed and s-10 stuff ho and what tilt colum will work s10 or no

The other option would be new axles with the 5x5 bolt pattern. One of my trucks that I am using the parts off of, the PO said he put 70 5 lug axles in the 65 housing. He said 70 disc only had the narrower rear with 5 lug. I looked at it and the axles don't stick out like when I tried 71 and up 5 lug axles in my 65 Burb. Again that's what he said so I don't know for sure but the work fine in my 65 swb, Except for the bent frame I discovered today!

thanks for the imfo steve i have afriend that should have a 70sorry too hear about what you fond out to day my truck just about striped and ready to start sand blasting

70's were 6 bolt. 71 up were disk.

Any competent machine shop should be able to take your original 6-lug axles, weld up the holes and redrill them for the 5-lug pattern. Should cost less than $100 depending on your area.

I have a 220 ark welder. I should bee able to weld in holes and take a 5 on 5 axel and vise grip them to gether and redrill my 65 axels for 0$ you think it work . I like to tinker any way. OR should i not chanse fing it up

agree with smbrouss70 ----but don't bother welding the holes. center 5 so that it only interferes with 1 of the 6 holes and only weld at that spot. The weld is hard to machine and gains little. Flanges have to be turned down for the smaller drum center.
