Electric fuel pump mounting
I have an electric fuel pump that I need to mount but the only place I can find for it to fit is on the outside frame rail just under the passenger seat between the 2 cab mounts. Would it be alright there if I drill holes and run most of the line on the inside frame rail? Also wondering where others have mounted thiers.

Re: Electric fuel pump mounting
I put mine on the inner fender and ran a 3/8 steel line between the brake booster bracket then behind the carb. I am trying to figure away to put a vacuum switch on it so it will shut off when the engine dies with the ignition on, In case of an accident I don't throw fuel all over.

You use a pressure switch on you oil pressure line, when the oil pressure drops off the pump shuts down. You can get this at Jegs or Summit, any performance or auto supply.

Re: Electric fuel pump mounting
I thought about putting it on the inner fender but the instructions say to put it as close to the tank as possible. I guess I'm gonna have to fab something up like kelsfine69. Does anyone have an opinion about mounting on the outside of the frame rail?

Re: Electric fuel pump mounting
If you mount it outside the frame it will be hit by every stone, mud and road junk that the front tires throw back. 1 word of caution is if your pump only uses 1 line be sure to plug the return line or after every fuel fill it will syphon out the return onto the ground.
