does anyone no wiring

im trying to figure out the wiring on my 51 chevy. i put a 350 in it with hei and it already had alternater but i cant figure out how to wire every thing. i tried puttin it back the way it was but now wires get hot and resister gets hot to does anyone have a diagram of the way wiring is supposed to be or have ne ideas?

I'm not even going to try to fool with the old wiring. Before too long, I'll be getting this and know everthing is clean and good. I tackle wiring routing problems for a livin'. Don't want that in my ride

thanks for all the help i got it running and everything workin now i on the road enjoying the power of a 350 rather than the junk 235 that was in it
