Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
Has anyone had problems with Reproduction front fenders and inner wheel wells fitting and lining up? I have found that its almost cheaper to buy repro fenders for my 69 at $109 a piece and less than a 100 for repro inner Wheel Wells. Please send your experiences with these items if you have replaced them on you trucks.
Thanks, JRB |

Re: Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
JRB, I have a totally reproduction front clip on my 69. I bought both fenders, the inner fenders, the radiator support, and a cowl hood. The gap on one side of the hood is bigger than I like, but the paint shop said they will shim everything up and get it straight for me. I think it was money well spent.
Here are a couple of pictures of mine. Hope this helps.

Re: Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
I've had repop inners on my truck for about 7 years. I have no idea who made them, I got them from a swap meet in carlisle, PA. I had to tap a couple spots with a hammer, but my original fenders are a little messed up.... The bolt holes all lined up with my original core support and frame. I did have to enlarge a fender hole or two, but not by much.
I just dropped a load of cash on new repop outer 67 fronts and both doors from Goodmark. I'll be picking them up from the Goodmark distribution center in Lawerenceville, GA tomorrow...wohooo.... I know some people scream don't get repop cause they don't fit, but in all honesty after 39 years my original fenders and doors fit like crap anyway. At least the repops will have ZERO rust It will be a while before they are on the truck, but I'll take lots of pics. Also, if you want the best fit for your doors and fenders you can get.... I recommend getting new cab/core support mounts as well. Hey 4tiresngas: Are your doors, rear fenders and bed repop as well??

Re: Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
If you notice, my whole truck minus the cab, is reproduction. I have another cab at the body shop now. He has already hung these doors on it to make sure he was straight with the gaps after he put in the new rockers. I say, if you are not going for the 100% restoration, repro is the way to go.

Re: Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
4tiresngas, looking at your truck is like looking mine minus the hood. That is going to be a great looking truck. Do you mind me asking what your going to put on it as far as tires and wheels? To answer other questions I am putting in both Rockers, Bed Front, rear bed support, Possibly the inner left fender. I am still up in the air about replacing the fenders because they are in great shape all but the front that will be hid by the bumper. Problem is I will know its there. That part makes me crazy. Thanks for the replies to this question they have been a great help.

Re: Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
I bought repops from Tim and the fit was great. I had two complaints on them. They were not wrapped aduquately so they received some scratches and needed to be repainted. The left fender brace mounting location did not have weld nuts but this was easily rectified. I would definitely use repops again as we are out of repairable fender liners here in Michigan!

Re: Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
JRB if it's just the front cup on the fender, you could save a few bucks by buying the patch that is sold for that area.

Re: Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
I am very sayisfied with my Jap inners.....There was a leaky battery in mine b4 I got it and the right lower was rotted.
I hacksawed a front piece off at my boneyard and welded on...That was the first and only 0 ZERO filler patch I did to date....In other words,,Its an easy patch.... |

It's about 2 or 3 inches high. I got it from ED at Mother Truckers.

Re: Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
JRB, I plan on putting either American Racing 200s or Torque Thrust's on it. I plan to got 255/60/R17 om 17x8 wheels on the front and 285/60/R17 on 17x9.5 wheels on the rear. I have 2.5" drop spindles on the front and 4" drop springs on the rear.
Richard, yes those are aftermarket doors.

Re: Reproduction Front Fenders and Inner Wheel Wells
Ok fellers, just got back from the Goodmark Distribution center in Lawerenceville, GA. Cool place. They had a 66 nova black and all flamed out, and two newer silverados pimped out the same way in the parking lot. Looked pretty cool. They were really nice people. They let me look at the parts out of the box before I took them. I found a nick or two but overall they were very straight. I didn't notice much of a difference at all in weight for the front fenders. The fender folds all looked good, but the front area where the headlight buckets go isn't quite as defined as the originals. The headlight cover will cover most of it, but it looks like I may need to add a hair of bondo here and there to square them up. No biggie. The doors are definately thinner than original, but they were pretty heavy. I got '72 doors cause I have all 72 door stuff and panels in my doors now. The curves and bends looked good on both doors. The nicest thing, NO speaker holes and NO rust. It will be a few weeks until I get them on the truck, but I felt like a kid in a candy store today.
