frame question

I have a 69 c10 with the inline 6 and 3 on the tree. I bought a rolling frame with a big block and turbo 400 on it. I was wondering how you can tell what year the frame is? it has front disc brakes but is there another way? I am looking to put the mistery frame under my 69 body since it was set up for the big block and disc brakes and it is very clean. the frame also has rear leafs that I am wanting to switch to coils. any ideas?

Re: frame question

Frame is a 71-72 or a 73 or newer. If you want the discs, I would swap out the front cross member from the mystery frame to your 69. It's a bolt over swap. You can find more info in the FAQ. Then you don't have to worry about the coil swap. You can swap the rear axle ove if you want the newer rear end by cutting off the leaf spring mounts and welding on the coil spring mounts.
