Help installing v8 into 1967
Helping a buddy install a 350 into his 67 which came with a 292 v6. Cross-member sits back too far. I see the holes for the cross-member to move forward (which looks like a pain to remove rivets) but how is the shifer going to fit. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you talking about the manual trans crosmember? If so I don't think you can move it, V8 requires a different one. Easiest fix would be to get 250 mounts and put the motor in the 6 position. 292's have weird mounts, some one on here will know more about the 292 mounts if this is what you are talking about.

Yeah, it's the 4 speed mount. We went and picked up some engine to frame mounts for a V8. The straight 6, 250 and 292 look like they mount the same. It's not about the motor mounting but how to get the tranny moved forward. The tranny and bell housing needs to come forward inorder for the engine to mount and clear the firewall.

292's and 250's use a different mount on one side. That's what I meant you can use 250 mounts and move the motor back or find a V8 crossmember for the trans to move it forward. it will be tight but it will clear
