where to get gears and posi carrier for a 86 K10???

im working on a 86 K10 with corprate 8.5" 10 bolt axles. i want 4.10 gears, and a rear posi carrier and all the bearings/ installation kits for the front and rear ends. im told the front carrier will work with 4.10, it has 3.08's.

Here is an ebay seller that I have bought from and here is a package they have for the rear: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Eaton...QQcmdZViewItem

As far as an Eaton factory carrier, if it is the gov-lok, stay away from it. They have been known to explode taking out your entire rearend.

Re: where to get gears and posi carrier for a 86 K10???

i ended up ordering everything from a local parts house

i ordered a rear detroit tru track limited slip, 4.10 gears front and rear and the installation kits front and rear.

has anyone here used these carriers in the rear? i almost went with a linited slip for the front to but have heard they dont unlock that well.

its going in a truck that will have probly 37's or 38's and an 8" lift soon, so combined with the sm465 it should still drive around town ok without being to much of a dog out of the hole.
