Side Moldings
Other threads on this, but I couldn't find them.
My opinion - Stick on stuff sucks. (unless you can somehow make it look as nice as some of the pics I've seen from those who have used it) Throw away the clips you get with the side trim and bite the bullet. Buy the factory type metal clips. I bought mine from someone who has a great first name.  Inner fender wells and door panels have to be removed to install. I bought the trim from a vendor. ("Kingly" kind of guys, but I won't mention names) The box said "Goodmark" and the trim came wrapped in plastic that said "Corvex". It looks and fits great. I had to raise one door, and shim out the cab to make the trim look straight. That would have been hard to do if it was already stuck on and sticking out. I ramble. Think it boils down to the fact that I like to turn a wrench. Like I said - It's just my opinion. If anyone needs help, let me know. I already know how to do it incorrectly. |

I agree Paul, I ordered all new trim for my shortbed and had to order all the clips seperately but it was well worth it. The holes assure that the trim is perfectly aligned and you dont have to worry about it falling off down the road. Stick on is'nt the way to go.

Paul,
I agree with you on the need to use clips. They can be expensive and agravating to remove but they will hold. We use the bolt on where possible, and the factory style push in on the upper bed chrome pieces. If you paint the holes and use dum-dum to keep water out, they will hold up for a long time. We tried the stick on and the funny clips without any success. Jim |
