700r4 with throttle rod question...

Hi All,

I am running a 350 v8 with a 700r4 transmission in the 67, in which I still have the stock gas pedal setup with the threaded throttle rod. What options do I have in finding the correct bracket to work with stock rod and still work the kickdown cable?

I tried looking at lokar, but it all looks like they need new throttle cables as well.

thanks..
John

Bowtie overdrives sell a plate that goes under the carb. I have one on my 69 and it works great.

I have the same setup in my 68. I used a universal chrome throttle bracket kit that all parts stores pretty much carry. I did have to cut off the bracket for the accelerator to clear the rod but mine works great.

Go wiht the Bowite Overdrives kit. I have it under my Demon Great kit. It will work with your stock throttle rod. it's th T.V made EZ kit.

Go with bowtie overdrives set up. it comes ith the new T.V valve set up and if you tell them what carb you are running they sendyou a part that attaches to our carb and it makes the tv valve adjustable from soft earlier shifts to hard If you do not get the tv valve adjusted right it will tear your trans out. go to their web site as it explans everything for you. That cable adjusts your trans pressure and also tells it when and how hard to shift.

I'm with sixty8c10, I always use donor brackets from vehicles I've parted out.

Yha but the Bottie Overdrives kit is killer.

And you need a kit to correct the gemoetery with aftermarket carbs. Junk yard stuff is good if you go with all one setup.
