Thumbs up 4 Spd Question

Will a mid 40's 4 spd tranny w/granny gear bolt up to a 250 six and also will the adapter from the transfer-case bolt up to the tranny,kinda looks like it would but need the professionals help.Thanks Randy

I do not think either one will work. I know most chevy engines use the common BH pattern, but I think the old inline engines are different.
Also, that tranny is an SM420, I don't believe they ever came married, so the adapter may not bolt up. I've never looked at the rear of a 420 to see if its the same as a 465.

If I were you, I'd just look for a newer SM465 4 speed.

Thank's for the info I did go out and measure and the ears or H pattern was different oh well just a thought my uncle has one and said I could have it so that got my brain (what brain) going.so anyhoo I'll just go with the 3 spd for now.Thanks 1969 GMC for the info,Thanks Randy
