Weird dash problems last night
Recently I posted pics of my new white dash. Well, last night I fired the truck up for the first time with the new cluster to check the new tach. It worked great but when I tested my blinkers (with the headlights turned on) the left side of the dash would blink alternately and when I tried my hazards the freakin hi-beam indicator would blink. If I turned on the hi-beams and tried the blinkers they would blink opposite . I was thinking my headlight switch went up even though I replaced it 4 years ago. I switched printed circuit panels from one of my other dashes and it all works perfectly now . Today I saw a post from byrd about the 2 little screws at the top of the circuit panel that are grounds and should be checked. I think one of them was in crooked!. The funny thing is that panel looks brand new with no breaks so I bet that was it all along. I just wanted to share this since there have been alot of posts lately about dash problems.

Re: Weird dash problems last night
Make sure that all of the dash lights are firmly seated.. If they're not in all of the way it'll cause shorts.. G/L

Re: Weird dash problems last night
the imfamous bad ground !! just seems most people would rather throw parts at a problem than take the time to clean up an electrical connection and make sure the ground is shiney metal to shiney metal// i guess there's alot of guys with xray vision that just check grounds by "lookin" at them without the need to disassemble and clean, for me i've been takin them apart and cleaning them for years with excellent locost results
hopefully a lesson learned===disassemble and clean grounds B-4 anything else when you have an electrical problem// you'll save a fortune in a lifetime

Re: Weird dash problems last night
Actually I had shiney metal to metal. I sanded the copper on the circuit panel and each of the tabs on each bulb before installing.

Re: Weird dash problems last night
Jim,
Good job, most of the issues with grounding that I have had are from those two little buggers..Randy
