You might look at a 1972 Corvette Mille Miglia Red. I can send pics if you have email.

Re: Which color red ??? Options needed
I had a 71' that was painted Torch Red from a 99' Vette paint code. My buddy is about to paint his Chevelle PPG Viper red in a few weeks.

Re: Which color red ??? Options needed
ppg has a real nice formula for russo red, nice deep red with almost a hint of blue
reds and silvers are probably the hardest to pick from because of all the veriations that are out there

I personally like the Victory Red. I also like Porsche Red. It's close to Viper red. Between the two, flip a coin. Both would look good.

Re: Which color red ??? Options needed
To me Viper Red has too much orange in it. I started out with GMC standard red on my truck but after being repainted it has gotten a little darker. Looks almost marron in the shade and it's red in the sun, not orange.

Re: Which color red ??? Options needed
OK you Milly Vanilly Fans. It is pronounced Milla. And it was a Gran Prix Race.
Here is a quote about it: In my opinion, the Mille Miglia was an epoch-making event, which told a wonderful story. The Mille Miglia created our cars and the Italian automobile industry. The Mille Miglia permitted the birth of GT, or grand touring cars, which are now sold all over the world. The Mille Miglia proved that by racing over open roads for 1,000 miles, there were great technical lessons to be learned by the petrol and oil companies and by brake, clutch, transmission, electrical and lighting component manufacturers, fully justifying the old adage that motor racing improves the breed. AS QUOTED BY ENZO FERRARI I'm sure that some of the engineering discoveries made in these races somehow eventually made their way into our trucks. |

Re: Which color red ??? Options needed
I prefer reds without the orange or yellow cast to them like Torch Red, Viper Red, Porshe Guards, etc. HOK Blue Blood Red is a very rich red, and it is not blue like you may think. If anyone watches American Hot Rod, that is the color they painted the '63 Stingray with. Look at some of the new import reds. They have some beautiful reds as well. Mercedes and Lexus are the first two that come to mind.

Re: Which color red ??? Options needed
I saw a red SSR going the other way on the highway yesterday. I wasn't looking at the cars going the other way, but because of the color, it really jumped out at me. If you want everyone to notice your truck, this would be a good choice.

Re: Which color red ??? Options needed
I like just about all red paint. My 02 Z71 is victory red. My 1971 cheyenne
will be painted viper red. I seem to like the reds that go toward the orange side more then the reds that go toward the blue side. |
