Angry Classic Industries Sale?????????????

So I get the Classic Industries promotional e-mail for the great 20% off sale - I place a $460 order of various interior suspension and exterior parts. About 18 things alltogether. The kicker was that when i hit check out the 20% discount came up to $14.00 - - - - -instead of about 90 bucks... huh? Okay maybe a couple of things are exempt but wow, I was really disappointed and cancelled the sale - I wanted to check if anyone got this problem of did I really hit the luck of the exempt from sale loophole???

Yeah, that sounds about like Year One. They send me 20 and 30% coupons all the time, but I can still buy from anyone else cheaper than their discounted rate. I don't buy from Yer One or Classic Industries. they're both overpriced, even on repop stuff.

Go with the board vendors. Most have "specials" on parts.

Not sure what it is with the Year One guys, but every single price in their catalog is insane compared to what I can get stuff for elsewhere. I wish there was some way to know if the parts were produced by the same vendor - I have had cases where a difference in price between two vendors really was a difference in quality...but I don't think this is the case with Year One.

I bet you're paying for the privelege of having "Year One" parts on your car, a yuppie wouldn't dare buy from a 'good o boy' no matter how much they could save. They do have a nice catalog, plus you pay for all those shows they sponsor. Sometimes the price difference is in the quality.

Re: Classic Industries Sale?????????????

I bought some sway bar components today from Early Classic and said I was a board member and asked if they give any discounts. They hooked me up with free freight. SCHWINNNGGGG!!! Good guys to deal with.

Re: Classic Industries Sale?????????????

I had great service with ECE, but didn't think to ask for a discount. However, they were running an end of the year discount of which I took advantage.

I also had good dealings with Summitt Racing. I ordered a replacement gauge from them and on my invoice they gave me $20 off of my next order. So I turned around a bought a headlight relay harness. Which ended up covering their handling charge and $10+ off of the $31.00 harness. Worked for me.

Re: Classic Industries Sale?????????????

I actually think he was wondering why he didn't get 20% off the whole thing, and the answer is some parts are discount exempt. I buy from whoever and try to mind price, but year one has d@mn near everything, kinda like everyone knocks LMC, but d@mn it they have just about everything you could want. Year One and Classic Industries sells the best quality they can, not to say others don't, but I can guarentee you if someone is selling the same part (hood for hood even though they are made by different manufactuers)for significantly less the chances are one is a better quality.

Re: Classic Industries Sale?????????????

It's hard to tell just exactly who's parts are better then others, they never say where they are getting the parts from unless they are from a USA manufacturer. Kinda Funny that way
