tach info / help

I have a 1984 c10 400/th350 tranny. I want to put in a tach so i can make sure the rpms are in check. I would love to do a dash swapp for the tach included dash but have little money. i would like to mount the tach so it does not make the truck look goffy. also i would like a good looking tach itself that will not break the bank.

any ideas?

thanks

You can get a small diameter tach and use a hose clamp to mount it to the column low enough where it will not turn with the gearshift being moved. It fits right between the gas gauge and speedo.

Re: tach info / help

84 400: I had mine mounted exactly the same as BIGBLOCK 73 has his mounted. In fact it was the same tach as his. It's a good location that's out of the way but you can easily read it. The only reason I removed it was because I installed a factory dash tach.

I only had the Blazer for a year and a helf...didn't do much of anything to it. Here is a link with some info on it. I do wish I would have hung on to it...I liked it alot.

Re: tach info / help

mine is the same tach as well in the same location. That looks like a Sunpro II tach and you can get those at most local auto parts stores.. Autozone, Oreillys and such.. they come with all the wires you just have to connect them in the right spots. Should come with instructions stating which wire goes where, if you arent sure you can always ask and we can help ya along...
