carb and intake ?'s

Here's the situation. I have a 1984 C10 with a 305. I am going with goodwrench 350 from my local dealership along with a new 700r4. I am looking at my carb and intake options. I have been thinking about going with an edelbrock performer intake and haveing the quadrajet rebuilt. There is a guy I know who will do it for $40. But I am just curious what you guys think I should do. The truck is going to be a daily driver and all emissions have been removed off the truck.

Re: carb and intake ?'s

Sounds like you have the right idea already. Just make sure the guy knows what he is doing. If the quad is rebuilt correctly it's a great carb.

BTW- Welcome to the forum...

Re: carb and intake ?'s

Yeah, if the guy rebuilds it good it can be a very good carb.

Re: carb and intake ?'s

Sounds like a great deal on the carb. It would cost a whole lot more then $40 if somone droped one on my doorstep.

I'm not a fan of the performer intakes, there not much better then stock. If you can swing a RPM q-jet it would be alot better. Since you have the engine out now would be the time to dump the factory exh manifolds too since the 80's trucks werent exactly flow oriented in that department.
