Re: Sandblast
Cheap sandblaster from sears $30 (30 years ago), around 200 lbs of sand, aprox. $30, gallon of rustoelum and some cheap paint brushes $25, back yard looking like a beach when finished with the cab and frame, priceless!

Re: Sandblast
Those rates seem alot like the ones that I have been quoted around here, However I have also been quoted $900 bucks for the frame and all body panels sand blasted, then the frame, rear end, coils, a-arms (you get the picture (suspension stuff) ) However I have seen their work versus other guys and they do a wonderful job.
BTW I have also been quoted 40 bucks for powdercoat of misc parts like brackets and pulleys

Re: Sandblast
I don't really have the time to sandblast it myself but like I said I have my own blaster but it doesn't work that good. The guy who is painting my camaro
could probably paint my frame.Do you guys strip it down to nothing or leave the bed and cab mounts on.Do you take it all apart including the frame rails and the crossmembers? |

Re: Sandblast
I paid $65 to have mine blasted. Then self-etching primer and three quarts of Rustoleum 7777.

Re: Sandblast
I went to an industrial sand blaster (who does tractor trailers) and it was $20 after hours. Then Continetal Coating shot it for $200 in chassis black powder.
I doubt I will get my truck down to the frame, but I will do spot POR-15 as I go since a friend of mine is a dealer. |
