how is the air bag "ride"?

if you have air bags on your truck, are you pleased with the ride? or are you sacrificing the ride for the look? I dont know anyone that has them or experienced the air ride myself, so I thought I'd ask before I make the plunge.

Re: how is the air bag "ride"?

ride quality is both good and not so good.... it is good when you have the pressure right and its nice ridding.... for that low look ,almost no to little pressure, the quality is not that good..... also you have a air tank to mount, air pump, and lines/wiring to run....altho cool......
me, im going the coil spring route to achive my ride height and stance.

Re: how is the air bag "ride"?

My answer is yes they ride great when set up right. As mentioned above when driven at low psi they ride spongy to bad! But that is not a proper install. On my 71 I wanted it to be very low but also ride good so I ended up body dropping it as well as notching and stepping the frame so it would be as low as I wanted it but still maintain the corect psi in the bags. So yes it can go both ways but that is up to you. I have three more projects lined up for air ride set ups!

In your face they SUCK!!Under your butt, real nice. The ride is fully adjustable. The have been used on large buses for years for the better ride(picky cargo).Moving vans use them to assure your belongings arrive in one piece(well, most of the time). Those GM RVs with Toronado front drive used them and where real smooth. They also could be dropped to the ground for EZ entry while at the campground.
