CrewCab Tranny Question...
Okay, On boot leave from Parris Island, I bought a '79 Crewcab in rolling form, no motor or tranny. It had a TH400, and I was told that it aint no ordinary 400, it's even longer than a longtail th400, because of the extra length of the truck they made the tailshaft and output shaft longer, does anyone know if this is true, or if a regular longtail Turbo400 will work??? Thanks

Crank,
Hope someone will be able to help with your truck, I don't know about crew cabs. I just wanted to say OHRAH. And thank you for your service to this country. I was a Drill Instructor in the early 70's at Parris Island. And after 8 years in the Corps got out a GySgt. So Semper Fi and GOD bless setandreel |

Re: CrewCab Tranny Question...
I'm pretty sure the difference is in the length of the driveshaft, not a different tranny.

Re: CrewCab Tranny Question...
Yes its a th375. Its pretty much a th400 but it has a longer tailshaft and the output spline is the same a th350. Its also relatively the same length as a th350 9in tailshaft.

Re: CrewCab Tranny Question...
The regular 400 works GREAT in mine! Make sure the splines match before you try to install but other than that have fun!
