What have you done to you 402 for power?
Has anyone put on a set of aluminum heads, cam, intake, carb to their 402? How does it run? Is it a tire molestor?

It should be, stock they are. A guy down the street did the edelbrock system on his 396 chevelle oval port, what a difference and it took some weight off the front

Replaced it with a 502.

New cam is the quickest way to wake up a old 402. At 80,000 miles cam sprocket went took out 8 exhaust valves so I dropped a crane hmv272 cam in it new exhaust valves and push rods, stock intake and q-jet That thing was unstopable( till I had it rebuilt at 150,000 then 1 problem after another).

I have a good 1969 four-bolt 402 block, heads, and crank if anyone is interested. Make me an offer.

hell mine pulls hard all the way to 3k with just the performer intake and headers. if it would actually rev above 3k i could fry my tires for a long time. i just need to get in there and tune my new ELDELBROCK carb. just havent worried about it since it gets 6mpg anyways and i really need to keep my foot out of it. lol
