Tie rod question
Here's the deal. I'm doing a disc conversion (from gmcpauls, very nice!) and I tore a tie rod boot (outer). I ordered some poly ones and accidently got 4. Should I go ahead and replace the inner boots too? Is it just as easy to get to the inner ones or will there be adjustment involved if I remove/replace the inner ones? Help/opinions will be mucho appreciated.
Thanks! Jason

If it aint broke dont fix it. But if you do don't loosen the adjustment sleevs and all should be good as new.

I disagree. I'm a perfectionist, and working on this trucks lets me enjoy my over-developed sense of order.
Seriously, I enjoy driving my truck more when I know that I didn't cut corners and took care of problems while they were staring me in the face (the definition of "problem" here is things that could stand to be looked at, not things that are just broke). While you're under there I'd replace them. Grease isn't kind to these boots anyway. You shouldn't have to have the front end aligned regardless as long as you're careful, and make sure those adjustment sleaves are tight BEFORE you start knocking those tie rods loose. JMHO Good luck.
