Re: MPG on new chevy's
00 Z71 4x4 with 3.73 rear, 5.3L motor, x cab truck and I get 15 straight city, 18-19 staight highway, but for some reason a mix of the two only nets me about 16mpg?? The 2wd and reg cab trucks do a hair better than that.

Re: MPG on new chevy's
My 05 (single cab, longbed 2wd) has the little 4.3, 5 speed and if I keep my foot out of it, I get about 18-20 mpg in town. Haven't taken it for any long distance on the highway, so I can't tell on that mileage for sure.

I have a friend with a 2001 reg cab shorbox V-6 and he gets similar numbers, I think he said he got like 22-23 highway? The v-6 reg cab shortbox does way better than the 4x4 v-8's ![]()

Re: MPG on new chevy's
I have a 2004 Silverado SS, with the 6.0L, LQ9. It averages @ 15.5mpg (unless I put my foot into it).
