Tune-up after sitting for awhile
I plan on getting insurance on my truck this summer. It has been sitting with the occaisonal start up for quite awhile. What do you guys recommend for a tune-up?

Re: Tune-up after sitting for awhile
It has been sitting with the occaisional start up and run for about 6 years. It ran good and smooth when parked. It has a 402 that was rebuilt about 10 years ago. The motor doesn't have any performance parts, it's stock. Now when started it takes awhile until it idles without having to give it gas. And when given a lot of gas it sputters and gets ready to die. Do I just need to adjust the carb?

Re: Tune-up after sitting for awhile
might change the spark plugs, maybe see if the ends of the spark plug wires have corroded or anything. clean the gas tank out and check out the filter on the carb or if you have an inline fuel filter, check that or replace it. check if anything's in the air filtration system, and maybe change the motor oil with a new filter. that should make it run pretty efficiently.

I would crawl around underneath with a grease gun also.
