Clutch linkage questions

The attachment is a picture of part of my clutch linkage. This is the peice that bolts to the engine block that supports the Z-bar on the engine side. It is an NOS item that I purchased years ago. You can see the felt seal below the ball joint... my question is this, is there supposed to be some kind of an O-ring on that ball joint where that groove is machined around the circumference?
Also, anyone got a picture of the rod going into the cltch fork? Im using a GM heavy duty clutch fork but there is no hole in the end, just a dimple?
Thanks in advance... Tom

Re: Clutch linkage questions

The groove is to hold grease since the "Z" bar has some movement relative to the engine in addition to the clutch release motion.
