What did you get done?

This is late again, but I have a really good excuse this time. I was actually doing something truck related. Can you believe that? As usual I did the daily driver clean up on Saturday, then I went by Trailer City and rented a car hauler.

I got up early Sunday morning and drove to Rowlett with the trailer in tow.
I wanted to see my buddy Keith and his family because they are in the process of buying a new home. We wanted to see what they bought. WOW! It's really nice!

After a tour of Keith's new castle, we went to Stoked Out Specialties in Rockwall. I got a quick look at the finished door panels for Roger's soon to be released truck project. They turned out really, really nice.

After a quick look around I rolled my 77 Cheyenne out and loaded it on the trailer. It was time to take it home finally. There are a couple of details to get squared away on the transmission before I can really call it done, but at least it's in my garage again.

What did you get done?

Re: What did you get done?

Did some yard work and cleaned the house a bit. I did get enough energy to pull my dash off this afternoon and replace my ac panel with the non ac panel I got from the donor truck. Seems pointless since I'm going to do an AC conversion in the near future but looks good for now.

Glad you got the truck back Ken! We need some more pics!

Re: What did you get done?

I FINALLY!! got my drivers side floor pan, inner rocker, and A-pillar bottom welded in. Now I just need to hang the door on so i can weld in the rocker.
Then its time to pull the body off of the frame so it can go to the powder coater.

Re: What did you get done?

Got my 80 running pretty good, and started on pulling the engine out of my 89.

If I were to get my new injectors, shocks, do my rear end electrical, and bolt the box down, I'd almost be tempted to get her registered and insured so I can start driving it, and getting it tuned up

However, I want to get my 89 done and sold, 77 done and ready to sell, and 80 in primer before I do so. So, it won't see the road till the middle of June or so.

Re: What did you get done?

Replaced the spider gears in my 87. That thing is turning into more and more trouble. Now if I could get it to idle in gear and not die that would be awesome. I'm such a neewb to TBI and all its complicated mess of sensors.

I had to take the day off and drive this fine machine to a car show for a friend of mine. What a fun car!

Re: What did you get done?

Hi all ,

I did nothing truck related , as usual

My beloved and myself did hit the road with the G-20 & went for a week to the mediterranean sea area , we were housed for free by a friend ...

We spent the whole week visiting the surrounding area , I worked on the body of a 1938 Citroën "Traction Avant" which had her roof damaged , I had to put the rain gutter right and work out some dents here & there --> I was paid with a BBQ and a lot of red wine

hereby in the after ground a picture of that Citroën , with me at the steering wheel of a 1961 F*rd T-Bird ...

I also had the opportunity to test drive a 1966 M*stang convertible , 289ci/C4 combo , common stuff for you all , but something different for us european guys

http://www.forum-dreams-cars.net/ind...=post&id=10122

That's all , folks

Re: What did you get done?

I installed a Jet Performance stock rebuilt Quadrajet on the truck. I have not had a chance to do any adjustments yet, but it seems to run pretty well with it.

Re: What did you get done?

Had to replace a leaking radiator hose, while I was in there I finally put on my new radiator shroud (old one destroyed by flying fan blade).

Went to replace my bent front bumper with a shiny new one and discovered the frame horn on the bent side was tweaked by about 3/4". Where the outer bumper bracket attaches to the frame was also pushed in a little. Need to get it straightened before I can install the new bumper, considering trying this myself...

Re: What did you get done?

My ribs are still healing up from my kid accidently wacking me with a 4x6x8.

I did get my Pertronix Ignitor installed. Not sure there's enough there for a FAQ; pretty simple install and absolutely trouble-free. Goodbye points! Question - do you guys solder connections like that? I've always done it, but my buddy saw me doing it and thought I was crazy...?

I also sawsall'd off the exhaust in my '69 vette and got the right half-shaft out. I also dropped the spare so I've got some room to work. I may drop the tank this weekend to see if I've actually got the build sheet. I've got one stubborn bolt on the R/F lower A-arm that I'm fighting with. Gonna try the torch-and-beeswax thing this weekend, but I'm open for any other approaches.

Re: What did you get done?

I did nothing truck related, I was busy doing crap around the house.

Friday after work I had to come home and cut down a 25' tall Red Bud tree that had split down the middle from storms last week. It over hangs our house so I had to get up on the roof and use the pole saw to cut most of the top out.

Saturday I spent the better part of the day replacing the P Trap on my bathroom sink, It had rotted out and was leaking. While under there I noticed that the supply lines to the faucet were leaking. They were copper hard line and the houses foundation has settled causing them to leak. While I was at it I also replaced the hardline on the toilet supply line that had also been leaking.

I also snaked the bathroom sink pipes as well because we've had a hellacious clog the last two weeks. Clear now and I got a nice pipe snake for $14 from the Depot. Would have been the same price to rent but this house is old and I figured I'll need it again later.

Sunday we went out on the in-laws new pontoon boat on Lake Granbury. It's real nice, came with a clarion radio setup and all the bells/whistles. One problem was the prop button on the throttle wouldn't lower but would lift. It lowered manually at the motor so it's got to be in the handle.

Re: What did you get done?

Worked most of it but went to my cousin's wedding reception and had way too much to drink. GF had to drive the truck home for the 2nd time ever. She did great but was not used to the throttle being so touchy. Other than that it rained too much to do anything else so I worked on another cousin's kitchen remodeling project. New counters, sink, faucet, etc. Turned out better than they thought it would. I gotta start charging for my labor

Re: What did you get done?

I've been a slave to my fiance for the past TWO weekends! lol

We just bought a house and we've spent countless hours doing minor remodeling work inside of it...

I also got most of my caprice wagon put back together after it's new paint job, but it's not quite done yet.

Nothing truck related except for getting a few mandrel bent tubes for my turbo hotside tubing.
