Can rust around the windshield seal be repaired? I may be looking for a new cab soon. Does anybody know how to repair this problem?

Re: rust around the windshield seal
Ouch, it can be repaired just takes some time, best bet depending on how bad it is is to replace the top from a cab that is too far gone to repair

That's the reason I quit driving my 70 step side.

This problem seems to have no easy answer. I'm not sure what to do at this point

Re: rust around the windshield seal
Where is it? Inside, outside? They make a patch for the interior upper, but it's a tough install. I'm in the middle of one right now. There's only one way to fix rust, it needs to be cut out and replaced.

Re: rust around the windshield seal
Then you're in the same boat I'm in. Sounds like the rain gutter has been leaking. If you can swing it, I'd recommend another cab. Otherwise, it's a lot of work.

Re: rust around the windshield seal
I had the same problem, probably much worse than yours too. I cut out the whole area above the windshield and installed the patch panel. While it was open I sprayed a can of rust trreatment all over the underside of the roof and into the joint in the front where the drip rail meets the metal strip over the windshield. I also sprayed more into the airspace between the cab roof and headliner. Once that was dry I coated it again with ZeroRust before I welded in the patch.
