Front Leaf Spring Plate Bolt Hole?
I replaced the 4" lift springs in my truck with factory springs and noticed in the mounting plates there is a threaded hole for what looks like a 3/4" bolt. Does anyone know what this is for?

Re: Front Leaf Spring Plate Bolt Hole?
That is where the front sway bar bolts to. They were on the 73 and up 4x4's.
I have not seen any on the 67-72 trucks but the sway bars could be retrofitted. Jim |

Re: Front Leaf Spring Plate Bolt Hole?
Thanks Jim, I just checked info on the plates. I looked at the rear plates and after getting all of the mud and crap off of them found that they are the corerect ones. I found a set of front plates in the basement with #'s 3943437 & 3943438. I figure they are pre 73' due to the fact that they don't have a threded hole for a sway bar to attach to. I know my parts book is dated on some parts but don't know if these are or not. If anyone has a newer version (mine is 9/72) could you do me a huge favor and look these numbers up for me and let me know what they fit. Should be in group 7.425 and listed as plate, anchor.
