Frame Shortening Question (but Different)
Spoke to a guy today that said he made a SWB truck from a wrecked SB and a Good Long bed.
SB was light hit up front, Cut Frame just behind Cab on both trucks. Moved SB frame and bed up behind and under Cab. Welded together, reinforced, and swapped over brake cable and driveshaft. Any one on this site done this kind of job?

Re: Frame Shortening Question (but Different)
Seems like he did alot of work and spent money he didnt have to. If you have the tools, knowledge, skills to cut the frame then taking the 12" out from under the cab is easy. From the control arm X member back is identical on a swb and lwb truck except for the extra 8" out back which is easy to take care of with a tape and sawzall or plasma cutter. Either way he got what he wanted and now has the right length truck IMO the only thing left to do is
