Unhappy 67 chev horn cap questions

I just bought a new horn cap from LMC and I think it is supposed to have a rudder seal to hold it in place. Does anyone have any picks of the back of a horn cap, or can you tell me if it is supposed to have a rubber ring on it? Thanks....

It is supposed to have a rubber ring. Too late to pic it right now, but I will tomorrow if possible. There is a rubber ring and I believe one part has an extrusion to wedge into a gap on the "golden-looking" metallic horn assembly.

Say, does the new cap say "CHEVROLET DIVISION" on it? Mine does (it's original), thought that was pretty cool.

That rubber ring is still available through G.M.. It is used on 'P' chassis and some medium duty trucks up until 1990.

Thanks for all your great input Bob B.. I went to the local GM dealer and got the rubber retaining ring.

Like you said ThatOneBlue67, it has the notch.

The horn only has a bowtie on it with a small horn simble at the bottom. Looks good though.

All-in-all I've got the horn button all back together; but my horn still doesn't work. I now think that the actual horn itself is faulty, and will try and find anotherone. Thanks again for your help
