Water Pump Plumbing Question

Ok I live in Phx so I am buiding things more for better cooling than better heater core performance
So here is the question:

Should I run my heater hose off the water pump or off the radiator?

I have plumbing to do either with the other hose going to the manifold. That is where the other goes right????

I don't really care if the heater core doesn't work as well, I am more concerned about the water pump pushing as much as possible to help with cooling at idle/stop lights. I have great cooling when rolling but things heat up at idle/stoplights after a long freeway drive or alot of stop and go.

All thought welcome. Since I have things apart right now might as well do it right.

Thanks in advance

It really doesn't make a huge difference if you return the heater core to the waterpump or the radiator. If you return back to the waterpump, your introducing semi cooled water back into the INTAKE side of the waterpump. Same goes for the radiator, your introducing semi cooled water back into the COOLED side of the radiator.

As for overheating or running hot, double check your fan clutch/belt/fan shroud and thermostat operation. Also check for debris infront of the radiator/condensor fins. If these things are fine your next step (IMO) would be to have the radiator checked/cleaned.

All this is assuming your positive the gauge is reading accurate.
