Extra Wire Question !!
I noticed this wire wasn't attached to anything and my truck runs fine. It comes from the main harness and seems to me that it is for the alternator as it extends perfectly to there and has ( I think) an alternator connection on it. I also am putting a pic of my alternator and distributor on here cause I think the alternator has been upgraded cause of the electronic ignition.. Can I clip this wire without causing a problem? .. I plan to put a Ron Francis Wiring Kit in the truck this coming winter .

Re: Extra Wire Question !!
i think thats for the tsc, transmission controlled spark. it's an emissions thing most people rip out. it should go through the firewall and there's a relay on the inside near the fuse panel. look for the other end of that pink wire around there. if it's not connected to some solenoid on the carb, might as well rip it out.

The wire may have gone to an idle solenoid on the carb, especially if the truck origionaly came with a 6 cly. Do you know if it did?

It is hard to tell what the wire was originally for. You truck has later engine with alt on pass side. The only way I can think of is to trace to other end of the loom and go from there. If every thing works without it you can clip it or tie it back.

Re: Extra Wire Question !!
It looks like someone has added the pink wire as there were no pink wires in that part of the stock harness. (The TCS system had its own separate harness as an add on). The harness has been retaped with electrical tape so someone has been busy in the past. I wonder if it was not used at one time for an aftermarket ammeter.
