steering wheel to close.

is there a shorter column i can put in my 75 ..i have a tilt now and was woundering if i could shorten it or if anyone has any suggestions.thnx

I put a grant steering wheel in mine and made lots of room . I coulndt handle that big bus type steering wheel that these trucks come with.

Have one on already.i need it to be closer to the dash.i can rest my elbows on the top of the steering wheel...was woundering if anyone has shortened it at the shaft then moved the tabs that mount to the dash..

I have moved my column down in my truck. I loosened the column to cab mount bracket clamp and then moved the column down in the mounts on the bottom of the dash to give myself a small amount of room. It is surprising how much 3/4 to 1 inch will make in room for the driver. You will have to look at where your clamp is at the end inside the engine compartment to see if you will have to redrill the holes for the sleeve or if it has room to m ove.

when i put on my wheel the adapter it came with was about 2 inches,went to a 3/4 or 1 inch solid billet i found on ebay made a big difference.
