Celebrated the 4th in the Shop
Finally got some time to work on the beast. I got the tranny, headers and started bolted up to the crate today. I'm planning on reusing the Flowmaster 40s and and some of the pipes from the 69 on it. I was cleaning and prefitting them some today too. This will be my first homemode muffler/tailpipe job, so we'll see how well my welding practice will help with that.
Finished the final sanding, seal sealing on the firewall areas and got it primmed and painted today. It is not show quality, but filling in the firewall holes worked out pretty good. Just have to patch the hole where my floor shift was and I can reinstall the cab.

Re: Celebrated the 4th in the Shop
Looks great. Man, it sure is nice working on all that under carraige and drive train stuff without the cab on isn't it. I sure would like to take mine down that far, but than I wouldn't have anything to pull the boat with.

ChevyDude, No I don't think I'll be doing black. My plan is to go with a Dark Emerald Green Metallic (96 GMC Color). Since I had started the engine compartment in black, I decided to finish the firewall and all in that color, then do the green exterrior.

Re: Celebrated the 4th in the Shop
Keep it up Bill! Let's see who can get theirs on the road first! Mine may appear to be closer, but I can only get to columbia to work on it seems like only once a month and for only 2 1/2 days at a time!
