Re: My truck

Bruce, The gauges in your blue 71 look cool, from the video on youtube.com. Do you have any better pictures of them, and possibly some details?

Re: My truck

here are some of them, i have more at my webpage http://www.laocker.com.ar

we build an entire fiberglass "dashboard?" (i think that it means for the gauges panel) and installed those gauges, but last year we decided tu build an entiure new one with better gauges, so here are both boards:
the first one is the old, and the other is the new one

Re: My truck

Nice trucks, Bruce.
You need to make a special Yerba Mate holder for the custom look!

What are those badges (placas) on the sides of the hood? What kind of guages are those?

Re: My truck

hi ecameron! the Mate holder is something that has no chance of being inside the truck jeje, no drinking or eating inside the Chevy!!

the first gauges were "Starth" not very popular and not very good, that's why we decided to change them, and the ones that are installed now are "Orlan Rober", one of the top, the principal competitor for Autometer here in Argentina.

about the badges, do you mean the little chrome things at the sides of the hoods of both trucks? they are the badges of the showroom where they were bought, it says "Casa Herrada S.A. - Comodoro Rivadavia - Chubut". my grandfather bought the blue one in that place in 1971, and this summer (January 2006), when we bought the red one 35 years later, we realized that was bought in the same place!!! what a coincidence!!! isn't it???

jajaj thanks Paul!! but in that case "10 segundos" is the name of a drag racing magazine here in Argentina. that truck races in 300 Libres (a drag racing category, where the cars drag for 300 meters ad have no limitation of time). its normal time is 10.7 seconds aproximately. in the web that GMC posted you will see this races!!

2 months ago i bought another Chevy, a 1978 (yes, 1978) Chevy Coupe SS Serie 2, similar to your 1969 Nova in excellent conditions, only 80.000 kilometers!! i'am trying to get some parts so i can have it 100% original, it's all working! here is a pic:

Re: My truck

Hmmm Hay ChevyC10. You said you have a 71 and 72. They look like they have 6 lugs. Do they both have drum brakes on the front. In the US (you probably know) 71 was the first year for disk brakes up front. I see this on all the pics were you can see the lug nuts.

Anyone else see that?
