purchased new rotors for my truck since mine were worn too thin, guess what they are from China, who woulda thunk it. Anyway they come with the outer bearing races. Should I replace the existing bearings? If I did it still wouldn't be a matched bearing set. What do you guy's think. Thanks

Clean and inspect your bearings, look for pitting, discoloring and such. If all looks well, repack with quality grease and install into new rotors. That's the way new rotors come and it is perfectly fine to reuse your bearings as long as they are not damaged. Don't forget to replace the grease seals.

WHEEL BEARINGS ARE CHEAP & IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL IF THEY ARE GOOD ONES JUST BY LOOKING AT THEM. BUT THERE IS A WHOLE BUNCH OF WAYS TO CUT CORNERS ON THESE OLD TRUCKS. BUT THEN AGAIN I'M ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT ISN'T HAPPY UNTIL I CHANGE ALL THE FLUIDS & FILTERS, WHEEL BEARINGS & INSPECT THE BRAKES.
SHOOT... WAL-MART SELLS $19 MOTOR CYCLE HELMETS TOO.

YOU DIDN'T MENTION ... IS IT A $500 TRUCK OR A $10,000 TRUCK??? JOHN

Thanks for all the help since I spelled rotor "Rotot". It's nice to know all the forum guys ignore the errors and just go straight to the point of giving a helping hand. Thanks

I agree with John, Why take a chance on a $5-$10 bearing

becouse bearings rarely go bad if properly lubed. They'll last hundreds of thousands of miles. And 5 bucks X 4 (assuming they are that cheap) adds up a little over what's already spent, blah blah blah.

Clean up the bearing and pry the cage off and inspect the bearing and if it is good put the rollers and cage back on and pack with gears and reinstall. Thanks what I would do.

J/K don't pry the cage off, I know guys that acutally do that, don't know if it actually hurts anything or not but I wouldn't do it. When you clean the bearing if you blow it off with an airgun don't see how fast you can get it spining, when the bearing flies apart that is not a good thing for you.
