New Driveshaft, feedback wanted!
Ok, gettin a new 2 pc driveshaft made, 1350 ujoints for my 68 w/Turbo400/12b.
1st: trans yoke - should I go w/ a bolt on ujoint yoke or a press fit yoke ? 2nd: center bearing support - poly but original style, bolts parallel to shaft, or newer style bolts perpendicular to shaft. I know I'll need an adapter to mount that one. |

Re: New Driveshaft, feedback wanted!
Is it lowered any? I had a 70 chev long bed that was slammed the ghetto way and it kept breaking the carrier bearing mount. Actually splitting the case the the bearing went in. So after 2 of those. I found one thats made of what I think was aluminum and he said thats what all the lowriders with hydros run on there cars so they won'e break. Put that in and never had a problem again. It was about 200 bucks though. Don't know if that helps any but just thought I would throw that out there.

Re: New Driveshaft, feedback wanted!
It's a longbed, 2.5" dropped spindles and partial coil cut in front, so 3.5" drop there. Coil cut for 1" drop and 2" blocks in rear, so there's 3".
Currently, mild L-82 vette motor for HP. Getting some serious HP soon, so before I start breaking parts......... Current driveshaft has seen its fair share of abuse. |

I Built A True 500 Hp Big Block /t-400 Short Fleet Truck, It Was Lowerd About The Same Amount As Your's, & My Drive Line Guy Convinced To Go With A 2 Piece. He Was Right. I Regularly Thrashed That Truck For Years, An It Had A Possi 12 Bolt, Line Lock & A Set Of Big Tires. I'd Never Be Afraid To Use Em On A Street Truck. John
