SF Bay Area - Anyone with room for parts truck

Got a longbed GMC that a member has been more than kind enough to store for me until I can get it home. But he is loosing the space so I need to move it before the end of the month or put it back on eBay this week if I don't come up with a plan. Anyone got the space for another yard ornament?

Re: SF Bay Area - Anyone with room for parts truck

1. How much time do you need it kept?

2. Where is it now?

3. Do you need transportation for it?

I might be able to help you out.

1. Can't really say how long. Been trying to find cheap transport and almost had it, but timing was off. Also, trying to come and get it myself. Worst case, we would share in the profits of parting it out - if that were an option with you.
2. In Benecia. John Fabris has it.
3. Don't know if he would be able to bring it to you since it brought it from up north for me, but I could ask him if need be.

Thanks

Sounds like it might be doable, let me check with the boss (wife)

John Fabris lives about 20 miles from me, I am going to try to hook up with him next week at his local weekly get together so our trucks can meet each other.

I will let you know what I find out this evening, when I get home from work.

Re: SF Bay Area - Anyone with room for parts truck

Thanks, that would be great and much appreciated. We have a contract on 8 acres, with a house and 30x50 shop, so I will finally have a nice place to store my stuff and also work on it. Once moved, I will be announcing the opening of the home for wayward trucks waiting for their adoption to be finallized (ie., would be willing to store trucks during their transit from point A to point B).

It is a roller. No engine, tranny or driver's door. Will you have a trailer? If so, what route you coming back on? PM number if you want me to call to talk. Thanks.

Re: SF Bay Area - Anyone with room for parts truck

bummer. I'm flying out, and I guess it'll be a round trip ticket. If it was ready for the trip, I woulda been able to drive it to your place and fly home from there.
Man, that woulda been a cool trip.

Re: SF Bay Area - Anyone with room for parts truck

My options are to drive and and bring it back on one of my monthly trips, just don't have access to an economical vehicle at the moment. Wife totaled Toyota last year, so need the van for work. Or I could fly out if someone had a driveable vehicle that needs to come back this way and tow mine. John has a nice 4x4 Burb someone needs brought back this way - I am sure.

Re: SF Bay Area - Anyone with room for parts truck

I have the room and the OK from the boss. We will just need to figure a way to move it 20 miles, I have plenty of tow vehicles, just no dollies, trailers or bars.

Maybe we should see if John has something to borrow for a day?

No problem RT, I guess since John has the rig right now, you might have some contact info for him? See if you can find out if he has a way to get it here or if he has a way for me to get it here. If not I will start looking for options. Let me know.

Thanks John. The movement of this truck has created a new member and allowed two existing members to meet. Thanks Jerry, will let you know my progress.

Sorry, but I was talking about the guy that I bought the truck from. He became a member after John picked up the truck from him.

Jerry - Just got a call from a call that may be able to pick up the truck. He has some tractors to pick up around there and deliver to the east via his home base in Phoenix. PM me your address and phone.

John says he goes to one every Tuesday in Benecia, and every Wednesday in Vallejo.

I have been trying to get up there and I haven't made it yet... maybe next week.

Been sick this week...

Tuesday's at Rosie's in Benicia around 6:30 to 8:00 (don't know when that is going to stop)

Wednesday's at the Vallejo Farmer's Market after 5:00 on Georgia street (but I heard that last night was the last one for the car show, not sure)...
