Re: 72 cab on mid 70's frame
I looked into it once, it's way different, if it is done on a 4x4, it will look decent but not a 2wd

the 67 - 72 frame is flat, the 73 - 87 is not. You'll have to doa custom body lift to level out the body. And if you run a bed, you'll have to reloate the rear axle too.

I know the front suspension will bolt in. What about the rear leafs? If I use the front and rear hangers do you think it will work? I would prefer the leafs over coils because this truck will do alot of towing.

What kind of towing? The coil set up is a VERY good setup.

3500lb car plus the trailer and all the spares. Is there anything you can do to the coil setup to make it tow better? I use to have a 67 and was not mpressed with the way it towed. Would rebuilding the suspension help that much?

Re: 72 cab on mid 70's frame
the only coil truck i had towed like crap, but it was a 500,000 mile crap box with bushings that were practicly non-existant.
When i asked about it, about 25 ppl jumped on my thread saying there's tows like a dream. |

Re: 72 cab on mid 70's frame
There is a difference between light and heavy duty coils. I expect the light duty coils would squat more, but the biggest difference to me would be bushings on the rear control arms, the panhard bar, or whatever the centering rod is called, tires and shocks. The front end also has to be good. If any of those components is is worn or not heavy duty, it might well tow like crap. The springs only affect the squat.
