Another value question on 68 burb

I know value is in the eyes or pocketbook of the buyer. I'm not looking for someone to convince me to buy another truck either. Most say I need another truck like I need another ....

Anyway, I have a chance to buy a 68 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive suburban. Bone stock, 327, AT, PS, PB. Rust in drivers floor and rocker, all three front door corners, some in rear quarter panels. It is custom model with chrome trim. Only a couple of small dents. He says he is original owner (I've watched this guy drive it for 15 yrs) and original paint (I found evidence of repaint on whole truck). It looks alot like the condition of board member "68 suburban"s truck from distance only green and white. Owner says 136k miles, smokes when started, says rebuilt tranny, newer cheapy P235/75/15 tires, aftermarket cruise (non-working). rear liftgate/drop gate looks pretty good conditon, typical seat tears on driver side, 2 seat model.

1)What else should I be looking at?

2)What is something like this worth?

Please offer and help and advise you can.

The rust is the killer. Not the rust in the rockers, doors or floors, but the rust that is behind that. There is pretty much nothing that is a direct fit to fix these 'burbs. Some people have taken pickup patch panels and modified them, but I haven't tried it.

Thankfully, my 'burb has almost no rust whatsoever.

I'd offer him $400 and see what happens. He can't do much more that tell you to get the %$#& off his property.
