What did you get done this weekend?

Did a little work on the C10, blasted and powder coated the intake and exhaust manifold for the 6 cyl. High temp powder coating (1400 deg.) on the exhaust manifold, we'll see how well it holds up. When I install it I'll use a conditioning disk on the gasket surfaces to clean off the Powder coating.

So what did you get done?

Ron

Re: Waht did you get done this weekend?

I actually got to spend some time on my truck today. We noticed last Friday when we we pulling it into the booth for a show that the right rear side marker was not working. Found out the ground did not get reconnected when we refinished the bed wood recently. Also got to tweak the new pieces of the audio system. Then, drove over to O'Reilly Auto Parts to pick of some bulbs for my dash cluster. Enjoyed taking her out for the spin!

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Went to the J-yard and found a '72 C20 with leaf overloads, bought 'em for $25 and put 'em on the truck. I just gotta try to break the U bolt nuts loose on my truck and get the striker plates installed. Gonna take a lot of PB Blaster to do that!

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Well.....
On the way home from work Friday afternoon I broke a valve spring in about 5 pieces. What was left of the spring "appeared" to have keep the valve up high enought to not get hit by the piston. After further investigation my "ex" machinist skimped on the springs he used. They were no where near what my cam required. Bought some 110 pound Z-28 springs today and will be throwing them on later this week. The fact that my springs never had enought seat pressure makes me wonder if I was ever getting all the power the motor could have been making. I will keep you guys posted as to whether I gain some power out of this.

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

purrty seat cover 70GMCer. where did you get it?

well lets see i really got nothing done this past weekend other than hour and hours of research trying to find front brake parts for my 69gmc and primer/paint info. i however did do quite a bit durring the week.

i completely tore down an auto column blasted primed and painted it. it was a pain but well worth it. i also replaced the turn signal switch and greased everything as i reassembled it. it's surprisingly simple to do.

i also took my guage panel apart and cleaned it as well as the clear plexi guage lenses. brasso works awsome for this btw.

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

On the 70, I walked by it several times. Friday I changed out the A/C compressor/dryer and some other stuff on my daugthers Bonneville to get it back to cooling again. Changed the oil and did tires on the wife's Bonneville. Pressure washed the outside of the shop, truck, and both Bonnevilles. Lots of yard work and securing things for what might have been a storm coming into the Gulf.

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

madiron does it bolt to the core support or some angle iron on the fenders. (the hinge)

It looks like a real cool project. Would love to see more pictures.
