I guess it comes down to personal taste. I have installed them both and i prefer ron francis set up. The instructions for both make them a no brainer. I just preferred rons cool looking fuse panel over a stock looking set up. The way the wires are bundled also make it easier to make a trick looking wire system. Your choice i guess.

How much of a direct fit are these wiring harnesses in our trucks. I was also wondering if you can get the harness to already come wired to run a HEI ignition, one-wire alternator and stuff like that.

My Painless setup is for the 1-wire alt and HEI already. There are other options available as well. I think Ron Francis actually makes the harness to your specifications (at least that was the way I read it)

Hopefully these sites will help you to make the decision that works best for your situation. Do your research as some have better instructions than others. Some have great customer support that you can speak with a live person to help troubleshoot. Some even have a lifetime guarantee.

I think American AutoWire manufactures the EZ2Wire kits. I think they only sell their EZ2Wire kits on Ebay though.
