What do you think of my floor?

So I started messing around in the garage today and I thought I would pull the bench seat out and see what kind of shape the inside of the cab was in. I was fairly happy with what I found. There is a hole near each of the doors. The hole is not that big and the rest of the floor seems pretty solid. I was thinking I would cut out the rusty parts then weld in patches. Do you all think that is the way to go? Do I have any other options to fix these holes in the floor. Should I grind all the rust out of the floor? How do I begin to make sense of that mess of wires under the dash? Obviously I need new rocker panels.

I was also fairly pleased with the condition of the seat. I think I may buy a seat cover for it and drive it that way for awhile.

well if it was mine i'd cut any areas that were thick and scaly with rust, you can patch it, just remember cut away from the rust till you get to the good metal, cuz rust is like cancer lol but imo its not too bad to just patch just make sure you get it all or it will be back.

you just gave me a flashback, looked exactly like mine. well after you cut your rocker panel off it'll look like mine. the rear portion where the seat goes is fine, just put some rustoleum primer on it.

some advice i can give, make sure to keep your door on and don't cut a huge chunk out, or it'll lose shape and be a pain to realign

Have you pulled the gas tank yet? Under my gas tank the floor was rotted from one side to the other. I had to get the rear floor from a donor cab with the cab support. It was alot of work. Check there before continuing. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Don't forget to check all the floor supports. I went with the idea if i can stab a screwdriver through it I replacec it. I replaced the whole floor pan and my floor looked better than yours. I think next time I won't do it that way, I would just replace the rust.
