power window question

Looking into power windows and have a few questions. Most install instructions say wire it thru a relay to assesory power why not just wire it to the battery with an inline fuse? Then you could use windows with out key. Also do I have to order a wireing kit or can I just use my own wires?

Re: power window question

I think I am going to wire mine directly to the battery. My switches from A1 Electric did come with a relay....but just like you said direct to the batt and they will work without the key.

You can make your own cross over harness. We have. The only problem you may have is finding the wire with the correct colors locally.
