1970 2 wheeler "topless"

i've been laying low while working on my rolling restoration d.d. blazer. i am almost finished painting the interior and jambs med. olive with rattle cans. i found a local body shop supplier that puts ppg paint into spraycans, and med. olive happens to be a color they stock. "so, i've got that going for me." i wanted sliding and tilting seats so i fabricated seat brackets for some nice toyota buckets i have. i used all original mounting holes and kept the factory passenger side tilt and adjusted the driver side seat height to match.
i used four 1-3/4" spacers to install a set of 17" alloy wheels from a lexus suv. i like how they look and they were a huge performance upgrade over the 33x15" steelies that were on it before
this weekend i am in the process of making a soft "bimini" type top out of marine grade vinyl. i am making the frame for the top and interior bed side panels out of some oak plywood i have been saving. i will post more progress pics when i figure out how to stitch this top together.

Looking good! What are your future plans for it, running gear and what not? Are you going for a low or stock ride height?

thank you, its really a great running vehicle. i know i hated trailing arms/ coil spring rears when i had a 1967 396 el camino.
right now i have 2" blocks lowering the rear and disk brake spindles that lowered the front approx 1-1/2". i installed a 1989 700r4 trans behind a 385 stroker motor. i put a fresh 3.73 12 bolt posi in there, so it romps. i have 2-1/2" ram horns and some oem cadillac mufflers that dont quiet it as much as i'd like. i have a 1-3/8" front sway bar from a 1-ton dually (possibly 1-1/4") either way it's oversized. i have the white kyb shocks all around. i have a puller electric fan from a beemer that is a really good fit waiting for me to install as soon as i can. i am seriously looking into retrofitting a l6 250 with an aftermarket efi/ ignition computer that i can tune with my laptop. i think it would be fun to get better mileage than an excursion or a hummer out of a smog exempt truck. just to prove that our current smog laws are nothing more than another tax.
i won't be starting the frame off resto part, until i finish my 1-ton 1972 cst blazer frame off project. right now the only thing slowing my progress is $$.

the blazer has been my daily driver for almost a year now without a serious malfunction. i like having it at work because its sort of my mobile office and the reclining seats are for my "downtime". if you think thats bad you should see what i do with it and how it performs in los angeles freeway traffic. if this city wasn't so crowded i'd have had my drivers license suspended by now.

good eye on the caddyshack quote, nobody has ever placed it and i use it often.
