A better heater valve

Here is heater valve off of a 94 gmc safari. When the valve is colsed it lets the water continue to circulate and bypass the heater core. I am planning to use this valve on my trucks. We have a 94 safari and this valve solves the heat problem completely. The a/c doesnt work any more on the van but during the summer you get no heat and in the winter when the valve opens you roast. But if you cant find one at ajunk yard here is the info you will need: 1994 gmc safari, z engine code, a/c, no rear a/c or rear heater heater. Just thought you guys might like a different valve. I found a part number for AC Delco 15-5543. Here are more part numbers.
auto zone- does not have one listed
oreillys- murray 74607- special order
advanced auto parts, checker, schucks, kragen- factory air 74607-

Napa- does not have one listed
Tried to look up at carquest but there web site doesnt have a look up tool on the web site
If you go to the store and get one of these make sure it looks like the one in the picture. I tried getting one once and it looked nothing like this.
I will post more locations as I find them.
Enjoy.

Re: A better heater valve

Its vacum operated just like ours, just it actually works and doesnt corrode. The last one I bought was a few years back from gm,and it was for the van, they were the only ones that had them. Got the valve free but that is another story. I will have to go look in the van tomorrow for the number. I havent put one on my truck yet but from what I can tell from the van it should bolt right up. The astro/ safari vans have a a/c box that looks just like ours. The heater core comes out of the firewall just like ours. I keep forgeting to get one at the junk yard and we are just getting advanced in our area. The only reason I havent done it yet is lazzyness and the valve on there is just somewhat leaking. The one on my truck is number 2 since 2001!
I only have the price from the advanced web site which is $29.88. I would take a picture of the it on the van but I have two problems 1 I dont have a digital camera( not really a problem) 2 my flat bed scanner took a sh!t!
Hope this helps.
Aaron
