Electrical Prob. in 67 pickup
Looking for some help.
I have a 67 pickup. Restored but all the original wiring appears to be there. When I start up the truck a get a dim alternator light (no gauge). Then if I turn on the wipers, or the turn signal, or the heater blower, the light gets bright and none of the features operate. Just replaced the following: Starter switch Alternator Volt Regulator Battery Any Ideas? I posted this in the electrical section also. Thanks Jay |

Check this web page for lots of information. I suspect that the no. 3 wire on the voltage regulator is not sensing the voltage in the wires going to the splice in the picture below. I would try running a jumper from the battery positive post to this terminal and see if the alternator charges.

disconnect and clean the ground wire from the voltage regulator to the radiator core support and the core support to the frame with sandpaper see if that helps// cant stress the importance of stripping and cleaning grounds they're what makes things work
as far as that nifty little diagram up there NOTHING WILL WORK !!! thteres no ground

Don't worry about the horn relay stuff, the trucks didn't power the cab off the horn relay like they did on cars of the same time period.
