Dash Pad Repair

I have been reading the posts on dash pad replacement well I have a dash pad that is good but it has 2 stright cracks down the front. I have seen vinal/leather repair kits in JCW and Eastwood catalogs. Has any one used one of these repair kits to repair a dash crack and did it work.

Re: Dash Pad Repair

There's a post here somewhere from several years ago where somebody did a home repair on one. He cut out the bulging parts around the cracks, then filled them with expanding foam. I think he bondoed them then, but I am not sure. He then sprayed it with paintable undercoating to give it some texture, then painted it to match his interior.

He was really happy with the way it came out, but I don't remember seeing any pics. I never heard how it held up long term.
